But, doing something you love everyday is positive and healthy. It motivates you, gives you satisfaction, and keeps you creative and passionate, letting you live your best life.

{image}Tips to help getting a job doing what you love:
- Research and create a list of the companies and/or people you would most love to work for
- Many companies in this economy have work available but are not able to offer a long term commitment with benefits. Make them an offer acknowledging these less then prosperous times. Maybe you can be an independent contractor or available on a special projects basis. Being in ups your chances for a full time position down the road
- Be persistent ...and always polite
- Keep your skills current and yourself viable
- Network, network, network
- Create a blog! Showcase your personality, talents, creative side, and writing skills

thanks for sharing. I'd definitely want a job I'll enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this reminder.
ReplyDeleteIt’s frustrating, having gone to school, hoping I’d be in Radio by now. But see I worked full time and went to school full time and didn’t have time to do an internship. So here I am pushing papers with a resume that reflects that of an office manager, instead of a On-Air Host.
Lately I have been persistent. Sending out my demos, trying to write witty cover letters in hopes they’d they think past the “business resume” and want to meet me. Staying optimistic is tough though. People want experience, almost seems that school isn’t even a factor.
Those are all excellent tips!
ReplyDeletei needed to read this. although i thank God that i have a job to pay my bills, i am not satisfied or happy here. This is exactly why i created my blog and it's started to come around full circle. Networking really helps and persistance is definitely key.

Great post.. I just feel like I fail at step one. I give up straight away before even trying!!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. For years I didn't even know what I wanted to do, but just kept going back to whatever I ENJOYED and bit by bit it materialized. Working a job you despise will suck the life right out of you, and is a tragic waste.
