{image}Being late can cause stress, worry, anxiety and turn into frustrations or anger. With everything already on your plate, why add stress with tardiness. Elevated levels of stress, can have physical effects on your body:
- Anxiety
- Headache
- Sleep disturbances
- Mood swings
- Muscle tension
- Intestinal problems
- Poor diet choices
- Admit that you have a bit of a problem with punctuality and commit to your loved ones that you will make a valid attempt to squash it. Show that you value and respect their time. {note: they may not take you seriously...at first} ;)
- Try to stop over scheduling yourself in a single day. Spread out your commitments for more achievable time frames.
- Set yourself up for success by being honest with how much time it really does take to get dress, do your hair, make up, get your little ones lunches ready, drop them off , etc.
- Come early until you find a happy medium. Wait either in your car, walk around, or catch up on your emails, or just enjoy some quiet time to yourself before meeting at your scheduled time.

It's so hard to not get stressed! There's always something needing to be done. Why do we have a tendency to overtax ourselves?
ReplyDeleteGood tips :)
ReplyDeletegreat tips, i hate being late especially at work!
ReplyDeleteI am so with you. I like to be on time and like to give myself extra time for unexpected events. But, unfortunately my husband doesn't like this concept too much!
ReplyDeleteAMEN! I am never late and it's one of my biggest pet peeves when someone is late. I feel if I can get there on time... they can too.

ReplyDeleteugggh Iva... I completely agree and I'm so guilty of it. I'm always late, and I honestly think I have bad perception of time too... but I'm definitely going to give some of these a try!

great tips! i dont like to be late and it is one of my pet peeves when ppl are late. and if i am ever late i feel very stressed out bc i hate being late :D
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. I'm often late for things and I always feel stressed about it. I need to commit. :)
ReplyDeleteI come froma family of 6 kids, so unintentionally we were always running late and unfortunately that bad habit has become part of my everyday life :/ And generally it's completely unintentional. I always phone ahead and let people know if I'm running late, so as not to stress them out. One of my sisters is terrible - she starts getting ready (ie getting dressed/hair/make up) around the time she should already be there!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying hard to be on time lately and all my friends give me cr*p about being early/on time now! I can't win, haha!
