Baby Products I Borrow From My Kids

Every now and again I find myself 'borrowing' baby products from my little ones. Here are some of my favorite baby products that I use for them, and how I typically use them, sometimes, for myself too.

baby products I use+ Baby Products That Double For Adult Use + Johnson and Johnson Baby Products + Aquaphor + Seventh Generation Wipes

1) I love Aquaphor ! They have the exact same product for adults and for babies, just packaged a bit differently. I think this stuff can double for almost anything. Put in on at night on your feet, slip socks on and wake up to super soft feet. Or use it as makeup remover, especially on the eyes. If your skin is feeling flaky, dry or itchy {eczema} , rub some Aquaphor on. Or, maybe if you ran out of mascara, lightly coat your lashes with it, or even a bit on your eyebrows for a soft hold. It's also great for small cuts or bug bites. You can use it for chapped lips, give lipstick some added shine, and even create a mixture with your eyeshadow to make the color pop more.

2) The Johnson's Baby Oil Gel Shea and Cocoa Butter smells amazing. I think it does a much better job then most lotions of locking in moisture. I tend to put it on only at night though, because a little goes a very long way, and most of the time I put on way more then I should have.

3) I wash my hair about two times a week. Sometimes, I'll use Johnson's Head to Toe Baby Wash for a mild wash. I really believe that most shampoos are far to strong and that all the ingredients are not necessary for our hair. I also use it to wash my makeup brushes.

4) I have bought every kind of baby wipe out there. Either because we were in a rush and I just grabbed what was there, or we were out of town and I couldn't find what I was looking for, but my all time favorites which I try to stick too are the Seventh Generation Baby Wipes. If you have been following my blog for a little bit, you know that I love all things eco. But, in addition to that, these really are the softest plus they have natural aloe vera and vitamin E. I can not tell you how many times I have looked in my bag for wipes to clean my hands, or a chair before I sat on it, or my friends needed to clean their hands, etc. They come in very handy to just have them in your purse. I also use them to remove my makeup.

5) While I don't use Johnson's Baby Lotion Shea & Cocoa Butter as much as the other products, it has a nice texture and smells nice too. I use it mostly only when I am out of my usual daytime lotion.

29 Fabulous People:

  1. I sometimes buy the original Johnson's Baby lotion, that comes in a pink bottle. I just love the smell of it =]

I never thought of using baby wash to clean make up brushes. Thanks for the tip ^_^

  7. I'm all over this and great point about the products being designed with children's sensitive skin...so why wouldn't we be as kind to our?

I'm going to try the baby oil gel this summer for after beach. As an aside, my friend's grandmother told me many years ago that a dab of vaseline around the eye before bed would ward off wrinkles (she was near 80 and had excellent skin). Let's just say I've got a big birthday around the corner and I don't have a stitch of a crow's foot around the eye. Word.

  17. I don't have kids yet so I don't know all these nifty tips, but I'm going to try that Aquaphor stuff. I'm always looking for a new way to soften my feet because I love to wear sandles and flip flops. No one wants to see calluses. Ewwww ;)

  18. I might be using these products on me, but not on my baby because of mineral oils and other chemicals. But then, perhaps I'm a bit fussy when it comes to these things. xoxo
