Coach K, Beyond Basketball

Happy Friday Friends!

As many of you know, I absolutely love books. But, as much as I love to read, it's really rare that I ever reread a book. However, in Coach K's case, I could read Beyond Basketball a few times over. I'll even admit I get misty eyed a few times with complete happiness {cheesy, I know}. The stories are full of passion, dedication and positive, meaningful depth which anyone can internalize and apply towards themselves. I love it.

...I have always maintained the philosophy of "next play."
Essentially, what it means is that whatever you have just done is not nearly as important as what are doing right now.

This Coach K guy sounds like a inspiration. Thanks for the tip, perhaps I'll have to pick this one up for a read curled up in my big red chair...wrapped in my fuzzy blanket!

Have you seen the previews for the movie "Blind Side" yet?

I'm such a sucker for inpsirational basketball movies - actually sports movies in general, even though I don't actually follow sports (don't hate me). This book sounds good!!!

Happy weekend, hon!

Iva ~ I've noticed this in your following...and I even said it once in a comment just because everyone else was doing it....the phrase "don't hate me" comes up a lot! You a vengeful thing or what? ;)

You look entirely too sweet to be so hateful! *laughs*

oh, and "don't hate me" for mentioning it!

*winks*

Amen to coach K! I totally agree with him on that - which can be a little bit of a curse too as it doesn't matter what I've just drawn - I have to draw the next picture even better!! Have a great weekend!

This sounds really good. I like books about sports although I'm not really sure why because I don't actually do any sports right now.

I've never read a sports-centered sort of book, but maybe I'll go pick this one up since you liked it so much!

I know what you mean when you find a good book you want to reread. When you love to read so much it is hard to justify reading something you already have, when you can be exploring new literature, right? Glad you enjoyed it so much!

Found you on 20SB by the way!
