Answered, with what they view, as 'acceptable' culturally/socially for them?

42 Fabulous People:

  1. wow, how interesting. It's so great to read statistics from different parts of the world. Iceland's average age for virginity lost is kind of surprising!

  2. Haha I love that Australian men and women have a lot of sexual partners.
I think majority of people who answered would have been honest. I loved reading the stats darling!!

    How are you???
Your are such a beautiful person and thank you so much for your support at the moment. Your little email of love really helped me darling. Thank you!

  3. I dont think so, especially in India's case, where many people get married even before than become teenagers..

  4. 108 on avg... WOW!!!

and that's the thing with surveys, you just never know!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, I would assume it's a little bit of both. Depending on the country, I bet some people gave a higher or a lower age, depending on what they deemed as "acceptable". On the other hand, seeing that the sample sizes are fairly large, the confounds and outliers would hopefully be weeded out by the honest answers. I trust the simple poll more than the Japanese study on sex and breakfast. The more answers the teens have to answer, the more likely they will feel judged and give socially acceptable answers instead of the truth. Who knows? And Iceland? Yeah, honestly what else can they do on a cold island besides go to the natural spas, eat rotten shark meat (hakarl), and have sex? (Just joking Iceland)

  6. Woooh...
Icelandics are a surprise to me! Must be the cold long winter perhaps! Fab new week darling...

  7. I am shocked at how many apparent partners us Australians have!?!?!

  8. I had no idea those Australians were such a horny bunch.

  9. very interesting, but I think that here in Italy the "first" time comes early..btw congrats to aussie people!!

  10. hmm how interesting. i knew gay men were promiscuous but DAMMMN! haha

    ReplyDelete
  11. well, depending on how the survey was conducted and whether or not participants were truly anonymous would affect answers. also, you're right to think that cultural stigmas might sway certain answers but if you're taking an average these seem to be believable, no? the disparity b/w australians and chinese is so interesting! oh man, this post is great!

  12. No wonder the gays are always so happy. That's a LOT of partners, lol! As far as honest answers, I guess I'd wonder what they have to lie about, especially if it's an anonymous survey.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hmm that's interesting about Iceland. I mean I don't really think they would lie if it is anonymous. I also think it is really interesting how on average men have many more partners than women.

  14. Australians ARE awfully sexy. Ahem, Hugh Jackman.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wow...they move along faster in Iceland than I thought. Lol. The US age doesn't surprise me. It would be interesting to see a study about teenage pregnancy stats throughout the world. I feel like American teens are popping out babies all over the place these days. (My 16-year-old cousin and six of her high school friends all had kids in the past month). Yikes!

  16. Oh wow- I never knew any of these stats! Americans are SO young! I can't stand the thought of thinking of my two baby sisters (ages 15 and 18) having sex or being close to having it!!!

    Great post love! :) XOXO

  17. wahoo! i *think* i've fixed it!

i can't believe how young our girls are! i'm with brunch at saks, i don't want to think about my daughter or the teen girls i know even coming close to having it! scary!

    great post!!! :)

  18. so interesting! I agree w/ what some other ppl have said-- I had NO IDEA that Australians had so many partners! Some of the stats are pretty surprising...:)

    ReplyDelete
  19. daaaang!!! gay men are getting a hell of a lot of action. wow.

    ReplyDelete
  20. another interesting post! i don't think people would lie, esp if its anonymous.
thanks for sharing the stats with us.
hope you are having a wonderful monday girly :)

  21. this is FASCINATING!! and can i just say i wish i was in greece?!?!?!?!?

i have wanted to do a sex poll for quite some time. i find it fascinating to see how often people say they have sex, with how many partners, etc.

and you bring up a very valid question: how to know if they are telling the truth!

very interesting. i am going back to re-read again!

  22. I believe European and Latin countries are much more sexually active and open about it than most other places in the world. Very interesting survey.

  23. These were so interesting!! I love fun stats like this :) You of course have to take them with a grain of salt... were they honest? was the particular group that they polled somehow leading to a bias? and for the wheaties study... maybe those teens who regularly eat breakfast also have more parental supervision and guidance, or a certain level of guaranteed income-- any sort of factors that may also impact confidence levels, awareness, etc.

but nonetheless-- interesting!! Like a page right out of Cosmo :)

  24. haha way to represent usa lol. this is too funny. looooove u so so much!! xoxo

  25. I'm betting those randy teens in India probably lied due to influence of culture and religion...I highly doubt anyone in Europe lies about sex, ever.

Also: GO Iceland! What's in the water over there, seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow..Australians got it goin on....my best friend recently married an Aussie...perhaps she should have made him make a list beforehand? I'll ask her. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great statistics, well, I don't think it is great that people lose their virginity so young, but it is good to know about the statistics. It seems to say something about our culture that the age is 16, maybe we need to do something about that! Thanks for this post darlin! Hope your Monday is going well.

  28. nutty, batty. i am shocked the us age is not lower. i have heard from scary stories.

  29. woah what 108 for homosexuals ? when its 13 for hetero males?
    what!

anyway.. yea ithink alot of people were honest. why not. i would be

  32. Oh I should have grown up in Iceland!

I think most people were honest. You have to admit though the difference in men and women is shocking...if the average man has 20 partners and the average woman has 10 that means that some one is lying...right!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow...great facts! Very interesting. 108 partners, that blows my mind!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Whoa, interesting stats. I love that for:
    Australian Men: 29
    Australian Women: 17
The men is so much higher than the women. Guess they're hooking up with non-Australians? LOL. Either that, or the stats are a little flawed. Reading these makes me feel so behind on things sometimes, hehe.

  35. great post! interesting factoids!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I dont think people gave honest answers. I know i wouldn't. Actually, I don't think people actually ever answer honestly in surveys. They are more interested in following the norms rather than speaking the truth. But, thats just what i think!

    ReplyDelete
  37. 15! probably because its so darn cold there's nothing else to do!

    ReplyDelete
  38. You can never really believe surveys, cause you never know if the person is lying or not..but Iceland might be telling the truth if they're all about putting their business out like that lol : )

    ReplyDelete
  39. haha i love these stats... 15 yrs old for ppl in iceland eh!??!?!?! ;P but hmmm.. .i think its probably half true and half answred half heartedly... north american age has got to be lower... with all these young pregos i see walking around!
