A few years ago, I heard about placing ICE{In Case of Emergency} as a contact in my cell phone. Should there be an accident, paramedics and ER doctors will look for any emergency contact information and medical history in our wallets.
However, statistics show that only 2 out of 10 people carry a medical card on them. The next place they will look is our cell phone's address book hoping to find ICE. Its really simple and all we have to do is create a contact "ICE" with the information of the person we want making medical decisions for us.
iPhone owners can download an ICE program, making it really simple to store any important medical information.
I have yet to create my ICE contact. I really do not know why I have not done it yet, I guess it's something I'd rather not think about. But, that's not being safe, so today is my day to create my ICE contact in my cell. I am really sorry, I don't mean to scare anyone, I just think its better to have more information then less.

I think this is a great idea! I had heard of things such as bracelets that indicated any major sicknesses [is that a word?] like Diabetes, and High blood pressure, and things like that. But I guess everybody should do it. Thanks for the post, I am creating my ICE contact right now!

I don't have an ICE entry in my cell phone, but in the state of Florida, you can attach up to two emergency contact numbers to your driver's license. If you're in an accident and they run your ID number, those phone numbers will come up automatically. I have my boyfriend and my parents attached to mine.
