Baby, What's Your Sign?

Hi Friends! Yesterday I went back to the doctors for confirmation that the, no longer swollen gland, is not a tumor. Fun times. Thanks Doc, for the not so funny entertainment! A medical degree, years of schooling and residency, and practicing for a few decades, has made him very, very wise. I left the office with serious words of wisdom: "Iva, go pick yourself up some sugar-free lemon drops". Alright! You got it! Since my doctor just prescribed me candy, who am I to not oblige immediately. I raced off to the nearest store, picked up my 'prescription' {I now know I can't stand lemon drops}, and whatever magazines were begging me to pick them up. In any case, I woke up this morning laughing hysterically, replaying a moment of ridiculousness. My friend and I had a silly moment, I signed with "Iva, 27, Capricorn" to which she replied about her Cancer ways. And then it hit me. I have not checked my horoscope in, forever. I had all those magazines just piled up on the table and not once yesterday did I look at it. I'm actually pretty shocked at myself. I'm kinda funny like that and find Cosmopolitan's prediction of how my month will play out, lucky number, best day, best color, etc. amusing.

So, for some Friday fun:

Do you read your horoscope?
Daily, weekly, monthly?

Are you & your significant other/ friends astrologically compatible?

46 Fabulous People:

  1. when i was younger (i.e. i used to check my horoscope until someone in youth group told me it was evil and then i got scared). now as an adult, i know better (that evil has nothing to do with it) but i don't really pay attention. i am curious about this compatibility thing though. i don't know what B is but i'm about to find out. i'll report back:)
    have a happy, happy weekend.

  2. I always read my horoscope in the back of magazines and it is always wrong so I pretty much disregard it!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I read mine from time to time, usually at the end of the day when I can see that it was totally wrong!

Hubby and I are Scorpio and Gemini, which are supposedly not at all compatible except in rare cases where they will be together forever. I am guessing we are one of the exceptions!

  4. I'm a Capricorn too!!! I check it when it's in front of me...I typically won't seek it out. What's your birthday? I'm Jan 6th! I totally believe in astrology, tarot cards, all that weird stuff...my mom has an INCREDIBLE book called the "Birthday Book" that predicts basically your entire personality based only on your b-day. You might want to look at it in your local bookstore...it's FASCINATING!

  5. haha, oh the memories of racing to reading horoscopes every chance you got when you were a pre-teen! i barely to never check mine anymore, unless i am browsing though magazines for fun, theyre always way too broad and could be said of anyone! how silly :P

  6. I hope you feel better. I am not in to the horoscope thing at all.

  7. I personally think astrology is a bunch of mumbo jumbo (please no one hiss and boo me) but if I'm reading a magazine, I usually look at mine and the hubby's just to laugh at how vague and random they are.

SO glad it wasn't a tumor, love! Have a great weekend! **Hugs**

  10. I check my horoscope if I happen to see it in a magazine. I'm not too into it though. I had no idea about compatibility until now (I googled...again), and this is what I found (Me=Scorpio, V=Gemini):

"Gemini is of all twelve signs in the zodiac, the hardest sign for Scorpio to understand. Scorpio loves a challenge though, and Gemini is very sexy to Scorpio."

Awesome. Now I know why I can't understand him. Not the language, not the fact that he's suffering from a condition called MALE, it's totally his sign. It's hopeless. I'm packing my bags and heading out. Thanks a lot Iva ;)

Also glad it's not a tumor. Must have been a stressful time for you :( Glad the news is good though, and go find some candy you like!

  11. Horoscopes are so fun! Something similar that i love is..."The Birthday Book". It depicts exactly who you are. Specified down to the day you were born. You should check it out. Thanks for the comment dear. Can you tell i was born a blonde? LOL

  12. i don't ever scout mine out to read, but i find when i do read anything about my sign (same as you!!! a capy!) it is always spot on!! so strange how that works!

  13. I check my horoscope from time to time but only if a magazine or newspaper is close by. I don't really go out of my way to do it, tho!

  14. Scary...I've just left a comment on your post and you did it to...we did it at the same time!

    Lucilla say thanks!

  15. Ohh! I went to the doctor back in february because I had golf size glands in my neck - I knew it was glands but to ease the worries of family I went anyway. The french doctor was so concerned freaking me out and my loved ones saying I have about 5 tumors in my neck....

... thanks lady. And who was right? Me!! And the only thing you can really do with glands is rest, so the magazines and sweets was a perfect prescription! Light some candles and just relax darling!

As for horoscopes, I am a Capricorn too, as is Mat (no idea if thats good or not?!) I usually have my sister and mum on the phone to me reading my horoscopes (they are more into it then I am) its funny how some days your horoscope can be extremely relevant to what is going on in your life!

Enjoy your friday darling and I am very glad you do not have tumors! xxxx

  20. I don't put much store in horiscopes and the like, but it's always surprising to me that every single thing like that is always RIGHT ON for me. I'm the cappiest of Capricorns :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow, I haven't checked mine in forever. It's so fun though reading about what they say.

  22. I'm a Gemini. Not sure what that means but I always blame my sign for things; "Why you so moody?" "I don't know, I'm a Gemini!"

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm glad you're okay! I'm familiar with all that - I used to work for ENTs, so I know about the lemon drop rx. It does work though, and hey, it's better then surgery, right?

I rarely read my horoscope...it's fun, I guess. I'm an Aquarius!

  24. sometimes i sneak a peak! half of me thinks it is 100% crap, but i look anyway and see if i like what it says.

hope you have a great weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I never read them although the gay bff is obsessed and I can't tell him a story without him going "well what sign is he/she?" which leads to me going "huh? I dont know!" and him "well I can't really understand the story than LIZ" le sigh...

P.S This JUST happened so it's fresh in my mind lol.
XOXO (glad you're ok!!! Told you NO!)

  28. I stopped reading them years ago. They never seemed to be true.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ahh the good ol' horoscope. I have never been compelled to read them, and I tend to forget what sign I am on a semi-regular basis. I think I am a capricorn though, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

  30. hmm i never really check mine... but when i do i get strangely wierded out because it always fits. which im sure the "horoscope gods" find a way to incorporate anything that could be going on in someones life! ..but it still wierds me out! i'm a cancer by the way ;) july 15th is comin around the corner!! :) <3 youuu!

  33. I totally believe in astrology! I like all kinds of witchcraft! With a little touch of magic you can do anything just need to believe in! It doesn't matter in what do you believe in because everything leads to same...I'm Gemini.

I don't read daily horoscopes, they are just to objective.

    *Želim ti zabavan vikend! :D

  34. I don't read my horoscope. My gay bf is obsessed with astrology, and he doesn't think too much about the horoscopes themselves.
I'm a scorpio. I also fit the scorpio stereotype, and I'm proud of it. Funny thing is, my best friends are all either scorpios or cancers, so I guess... yeah we're all very compatible.
    haha

  35. I love astrology!! Though I don't read horoscopes. I just like to find out what my Zodiac says about my personality, because it is spot on! But I don't really take those silly horoscopes in the back of magazines for anything real!
But, I do love being a Leo!! Thanks for this great post!
    Cheers,
    Clare

  36. I don't really read them to be honest and if I do, I read them after the month is up IYSWIM? So I can see if it happened lol

    Kiss kiss xx

  37. Candy is the best medicine! :) Thanks for reminding me...I haven't checked my horoscope in a loooong time!

    ReplyDelete
  38. So glad that everything went well at the doctors :) Haha, and I wish my doctors would prescribe me candy once in a while instead of all those pills! During term time, I'm on the train everyday to University, and they always have the free London newspapers at the stations, so I read my horoscope everyday. But during the holidays, I only check it when I happen to have it right in front of me. I usually read them just because I can though, never give them too much thought. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend dear :)

  39. mmm..lemon drops sound good. I don't check it unless I am bored. I hope you are feeling better.

  41. I don't believe in horoscopes, but even if I did, I would rather not know whats coming.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't believe in horoscopes at all. But I do believe in how zodiac signs are related to personality.

By the way, I've got a pair of Current/Elliott jeans to give away on my blog. Come check them out!

  43. i never read my horoscope. they're so weird and too planetarium for me. but i do i know that my boy and i are perfecto matches and that's all that matters. OH but i will say that whenever i read about aquarians (is that even right?), aka aquarius peeps, it's usually spot on.

  44. I don't read my horoscope regularly but I do believe in astrological compatibility. I never paid much attention to it til one day a friend pointed out that my ex-boyfriends and I were incompatible astrologically and my husband (Capricorn) and I were compatible! I read the descriptions and they were surprisingly pretty right on!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know some journalists from (really high quality) magasines...they told me that sometimes "somebody" from the office writing the horoscopes without any astrological knowledge...it could be you or me...LOL. Since I heard this story I just absolutely ignore the horoscope section in magasines LOL.

Ps: I'm happy you feeling better...
