You know that little black dress you have that is always your for sure 'go to' piece when in a rush? Imaging wearing it everyday. For a whole year. 365 days straight. The little black dress might start to loose its appeal after awhile. But, what if you were doing it for a cause. That is exactly what Sheena Matheiken is doing: The Uniform Project. Her friend, Eliza Starbuck, designed the simple black button-front dress. Sheena wears it everyday, layering and accessorizing each day to create a completely new outfit.

Every day she posts her picture and readers vote on the outfit.
The Uniform Project is a year long fundraiser for education in India, with all contributions going towards funding uniforms for children. Previously there was
The Little Brown Dress, although, not dedicated toward a charitable project.
Which ONE piece would you choose to wear 365 days straight?
&
Which cause/charity would you dedicate it to?
I so don't have that much fashion sense to put together 365 DIFFERENT outfits with one of the same pieces. If I DID then I would do it for the Humane Society.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture on your sidebar btw! You're gorgeous!!
What a great charitable idea! For 365 days a year i'd choose to wear the classic black heels. A girly girl i am...i must have my heels come rain or snow :)

omg! how creative is this! i love it!
ReplyDeleteum...i have to think about it!
what a perfect fundraiser! i would def pick a little black, but more casual, dress as my one piece. i mean, look at how different and fun this girl makes everyday look! or id stay true to my favorite basic - the plain white tee. you didnt mention what piece YOU'D pick though Iva! :)
ReplyDeletewow what a neat idea. i'd love to see her outfits. if it was for 365 days i'd have to wear my seven jeans.. boring, yes a little but i just love them and you can always find cute ways to dress them up or down!
ReplyDeleteI think that is a cool idea, I would do it for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. I not sure which one I like personally I would pick something a little more girlie. I am not very good with fashion.
ReplyDeletePink (of course) dress for down syndrome awareness. i love this post!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea!! I'll wear a black cotton maxi dress and I'd love to dedicate it to greenpeace :)
ReplyDeleteshe seriously styles it so awesome...quite the inspiration! I guess I would have to go with a LBD!
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy and very functional at the same time. I guess it would save a lot of money! :)
ReplyDeleteoh it was my mom's birthday, but thanks :)
ReplyDeleteWow, my dress would be so dingy looking after about a week. i'd do the little blk dress too and donate to my brother's charity.

Oh man I'm definitely not fashionably inclined enough to be that creative. That's a really cool idea. I'm with chicamom, probably my favorite pair of jeans! Though in the summer they'd have to become cutoffs ;-)
ReplyDeleteWanna know something crazy?? I don't own a little black dress! The horror, I know! ;) I'm not sure why I don't... I have sundresses, skirts, a cute blue dress, but no LBD. B-U-T, I do own a FAB vintage 1950's black and white cocktail dress that wear if I need to dress up fancy (which isn't very often). I LUV it and feel very fabulous when I wear it, so I don't feel like I'm lacking without an LBD :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm creative enough to come up with 365 different outfits with one piece, but the idea is intriguing... hmm, what would I wear everyday for a year?? Maybe my fave pair of Guess jeans... or my patent blue ballet flats...

What an amazing project! That definitely would test your creative skills to the max. If I had to, I'd go with something like...a grey v-neck sweater. Versatile but still tricky for 365 days! Charity wise, perhaps for starting an orphanage in India? Oh and I added you to the project list dear, could I possibly get your city for the list?
ReplyDeletewhat a brilliant project!!! boy, talk about forcing oneself to be creative! love it!!!
ReplyDeletei would probaby go with a basic black dress or skirt. but, GOD, i know i wouldn't be any good at this -- not like she is!
I saw that the other day! So awesome! There is no way I could be nearly creative enough to pull that off but I would probably go with a black dress too. For St. Jude's Hospital. What would you pick?
ReplyDeleteWow this is amazing and incredibly ambitious! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh- what a FANTASTIC idea! Great post my love! I would wear some sort of a dress- I like this idea of the LBD- and donate it to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation so we can find a cure for us insulin dependent diabetics :)
ReplyDeleteLove XO
My gym clothes!!! and lets donate to American Cancer Society! xxoo
ReplyDeleteOhhh I heard about this, great post!!!!
ReplyDeleteUmm...hmm...what would you wear everyday? I'm stumped. I'm thinking my fav jeans, true religions because I can dress them up or down...
But without a doubt, my charity is To Write Love on Her Arms!
XOXO!!
It's seems very interesting!

Wow that is such a wonderful idea :). You could save a lot on clothes that way too haha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfukl idea and def. for a greaty cause.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I would go with a simple black vest or something and would donate my proceeds to the American Heart Association or Cancer Society.
I'm still looking for the perfect dress. But I'd donate to MothersWithoutBorders. I traveled with them to Africa, and I saw firsthand, the good they are doing in the world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
