Thank You, For Today.

It's Friday. It's been a long week. Some days I look around and just stare. I look at all the people walking by, and I wonder to myself, I hope they are happy. I hope that at this exact moment while I am happy, I hope they too have peace in their life. We don't think enough to ourselves how others are feeling. Some days we rush, walk to fast, talk to fast, we don't stop. We run around worried that we are late to get somewhere, mad that the person in front of us has 16 items in the 15 items isle, annoyed that our significant other missed putting the dirty clothes in the hamper, irritated that the car in front of us didn't zoom off at the exact moment the light turned green, so on and so forth. But, yesterday while I was looking at my toes thinking my nail polish was chipping, the world lost two icons. Three children lost their talented father, a son lost his beautiful mother. I cried on my way home listening to Michael Jackson, I cried watching vh1. I thought to myself while I'm anxiously waiting for time to speed up so my new outfit purchase can come in the mail, someones time on earth is nearing the end as my time ticks closer to my new package. Guilt completely took over me. Today, lets slow down, lets enjoy this exact moment, tomorrow is never promised.

50 Fabulous People:

  1. I agree with you. Sometimes it's so easy to forget the important meaningful things in life. Too easy to focus on the negatives rather than the positives.

  7. Hey girl! I know exactly what you mean. It's amazing when you look at a child walk and the things they pick up and admire. I wish sometimes i would just slow down and take such things in. We only have one life...so why are we always rushing like it's going to end. We should cherish everyday, every moment as it's our last. Thanks for posting this. It's exactly what i needed to be reminded of today.
Thank you for such kind words today. You're a wonderful friend to have...if i can so call you that ♥
