Starbucks Charge
$1.85. That is exactly what my Venti coffee at Starbucks costs. Every day, a few times a day, $1.85 each time I walk through their doors. But on May 22, my $1.85 turned into $21.85 . In the small chance that you have not yet heard about this, please click here. Before you ask, I'll answer for you: yes I actually use my debit card for $1.85. I clearly got hit by way more than a "double charge". I'm sorry, I can't make the image any clearer, but here is my lovely Starbucks charge:

wow, that must have been some great tasting coffee to cost that much! hopefully you will get your refund of $20 back sooneer than later.

I use my debit card for the smallest things too... who wants to carry cash?! I think I'll be checking my statement for any crazy charges. Thanks for the heads up!

ReplyDeleteIva, yes, Starbucks is currently going through the process of refunding everyone that was affected. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31190577/) Yeah, I work there, and actually, my co-workers and I noticed that our machines we being wonky, probably that's what happened? I don't know. But I'm sorry it happened to you, and hopefully you're credited soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry, I used my debit card on tiny things too! And being an employee at Starbucks, we get our discount, so my bagels are, psh, 80 cents? And I still use my card! Hahaha. :)
ohmYLORD i would have lost my mind over this! sometimes this stuff happens at the grocery store. you need to have an eagle eye with receipts to avoid it all, and sometimes i am not that careful. grrrr.

ReplyDeletethat is quite a mistake! starbucks should give you a month of free coffee for that one :-)
ReplyDeleteunfortunately, their policies on 50cent refills only apply to the teas and brewed coffees, not the espresso drinks. :( AND you have to have been sitting there at the same starbucks within an hour of the purchase to do a refill.
