As a little girl, one of my most favorite things to do, was prance around in my moms heels. I have always loved the rhythmic sound of heels a graceful walk makes. Although back then, the sound I was able to create was more of a dragging noise, as I tried to curl my little toes to hold on to the heels my tiny feet were swimming in. Her shoe collection has always been to die for. Hundreds of fabulous shoes. The sound of heels is still like music to my soul, and I'll never be fully satisfied with the number of shoes I have. So, you can imagine my utter, jaw dropping shock, to find this survey reporting that the average 18 year old and over, owns 11 pairs of shoes. 11. How many are in your closet, and what size shoe do you wear?

ReplyDeleteI cant even begin to tell u how many pairs of shoes I have, plus I keep them all in shoeboxes, and there are still some at my parents house... yikes.. but Im a 7 usually, sometimes 6.5 in dress shoes, but 7 for the most part!! Whos your fav shoe designer? mine is Jimmy Choo and Tory Burch... xxooo

I have WAY more than 11 pairs. I love shoes because shoes always fit even when you are having a fat day or a bad hair day. Beautiful shoes and purse can make the day better. Oh and I am a size 10, I have big feet :)

ReplyDeleteAh, I wear out my shoes so quickly because I tend to wear inappropriate shoes to different places -- ballet flats on a hike, or high heels on a beach. I think I have about 8 pairs, and I'm a size 9-9.5! Big, wide feet run in my family!

I've got 47 pairs of dress shoes, 5 pairs of sneakers, 19 pairs of flats, and 20 pairs of flip flops! Depending on the shoe, I wear a 7 or 7.5.
ReplyDeleteIn my defense, I'm really good about cleaning out my shoe closet (that's right! they have their own closet!) and getting rid of the ones I no longer wear or no longer like. Otherwise... I might be drowning in shoes right about now. :)

Oh boy, if I was home right now, I'd count them all for you. I have WAY too many shoes! And, that's not even including flip flops. I'm anywhere from a 6 1/2 - 7, as far as shoe size.

ReplyDeleteI've never been much of a shoe girl growing up. I guess mainly cuz shoes are too expensive for me. That, and heels make me walk like I have no knees. I think there should be a class that teaches proper high-heel etiquette, no? :)
I have probably 6 pairs total. 3 ballet-style slip-in shoes (what do you call those things?!); 1 pair of tennis shoes for when i (try) working out; 1 pair of non-slip work shoes; 1 pair of gold thonged kitten heels.
Not really a wide range. :(
I think part of my problem is I don't dress up as much as I'd like. I don't know really. :( Boo.

When I first saw that I thought "what, only 11?" but then I thought back to when I was 18, I was in HS/college, had no money, and lived in sneakers and flip flops and maybe a pair of Aignier flats. Now, however, I probably have close to 100 pairs, and wear a size 10.

Iva....you are a woman after my own heart! I love shoes but what's sad is 1. I have big feet - size 10 or 11 depending on the shoe and 2. half of what I own has never touched the sole of my foot or even seen daylight. I love them so much I pour over images of anything new on various websites (shout out to DSW, Gwyneth & Endless- I have a problem girl - pray for me. LOL! By the way I have about 40 pairs not including what my hubby "encouraged me" to donate. I'm terrible LOL but I secretly love it! - Now if only I was a size 7......

Gorge pumps! And like the rest of these fashion divas, I have waaay too many shoes to count! I range between size 6-7, so 6.5 to be safe :P but the funny thing is my mom is shorter than me and wears a size 5, so sometimes shell have to shop in kids hahah<3
