Traffic In Checkout Lane #3
I'm totally changing my ways. It seems that I always pick the longest line everywhere. I actually happen to peer into people's carts, and I pick the lane that seems to have the least amount of objects needed for scanning. But, no, oh no. I'm always stuck in the line, where the 2 people in front of me, with 3 items in their carts, are both having the same issues: forgot something in the store, so I wait 10 minutes for her to run around looking for whatever she forgot before going through the check out, then she wants to search for her coupons, then she says the other store has a better discount so she wants them to meet the competitors price, then she wants to write a check, then she wants the items repackaged because the bags are too heavy, etc. All a while I'm standing there with a two year old and an infant, crossing my legs doing the got-to-go-pee-pee dance because a nursing mommy only needs 300 gallons of day of water per hour. However, as unlucky as I am with the check out lane, I seem to always have perfect timing with parking spots. I tend to catch the spot right in front of the stores doors. How does this happen, you ask? Ah. Well, I think I figured out the answer. I couldn't care less if I had to park 3 miles away. I welcome the walk. So, in conclusion, I think the lesson learned here is not to care about trying to pick a good lane, and I think I should inhale less water before my outings, or begin borrowing my kids diapers.

Oh this made me laugh! I always get stuck in the worst lines and I have a huge problem with patience. Meaning, I don't have any. Or I'll try to be cool and switch lanes, and end up waiting longer and looking like an idiot. HA.
ReplyDeleteYay for Cali girls, P.S. We really are the best, I mean lets be real... :) XO

ReplyDeleteexcept not sure for 300 gallons of water in my case moreee !!:) LOL
It happens to me all the time too!! Hilarious!! I think I'm going to be smart and scan the carts for the least amount, and then-price check aisle 6!!
ReplyDeletehaha!! i think i'm the opposite.. i choose a lane thats closest to where i parked my car so i dont have to lug my stuff across the store but i NEVER get a close parking spot. never. never! i think we should go shopping together, we seem to make a good pair! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I was bad at picking out grocery store lines until I met my husband. He's worse than I am so we've learned to just settle in for the wait when we go shopping.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my Cali post, you've got yourself a new follower!
if you learn a trick to picking better lines please share with us! Long lines seem to always happen to me.
ReplyDeleteLoL - sooo true. OK, I am going to make it my mission to NOT think about getting a great parking spot. It's nearly impossible, but we'll see how this goes, hehehe.
