PB&J vs. Tuna Lunchbox
Had an awkward run in. I made my way into Starbucks because I decided it was well worth the 3 minute wait brewing my own personal decaf coffee since it was after 12pm. Celebrity status. In any case, the barista takes one look at me and OMG! HI! How have you been? Blah blah blah. This person had a whole conversation with me and I have no idea who they are. Yup. Mortifying. I went along nodded away like I always do when I have no clue what someone is talking about, which could seriously get me in trouble one day. I was tempted to refer to them by their name tag, but decided against totally putting my foot in my mouth in case they were borrowing their coworkers name embroidered apron. Yet this Starbucks adventure wasn't entirely without cause because it appears I overheard the beginnings of the creation of a social networking site for the kiddies. Good luck Facebook/MySpace/Bebo/Friendster/Hi5/Ning, etc., etc., etc., to infinity. Name: Billy Jr. Age: 5 Here For: Finding a friend whose mom makes better lunch bags to swap with. Our 4-8 year olds will be taking over the Internet.

omg, i totally get you! i am never amused with questions starting with 'how much...'? especially if it points to my shopping bags.
and you know what could be worse? the one starting with 'DID YOU know how much....' pointing to THEIR shopping bags!
LOL! you are too funny Wife in Stilettos! No worries at all. That is so true, perfect point! 'DID YOU' is terribly un-amusing! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words on my blog, it really meant a lot.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is absolutely delightful. I've spent the last half hour just perusing it and it has definitely brightened my day, so much thanks for that.
I've had too many awkward conversations with people who know me, but I don't know them. I blame it on what I believe to be early onset dementia. I can't remember what I did this morning, let alone the name of the girl that I had one class with in 8th grade.
Hi Miss Wendy! Thank you so much, I'm thrilled you like my blog! Yay, I'm so glad your day is going a bit better today. As far as your early onset of dementia, you are far too young even for early dementia. LOL.
