Cake. Cake. Cake. I can't get birthday cake off my mind. I was reading Becky's blog, which happened to mention baking, and my mind wondered off to birthday cake. Ga. To be honest, I can do without the cake itself, but the icing, now that's a whole different story. I like to get the slice with the most icing on it. {please hand me the corner piece} Anyway, back to the point of this post before I head out to a 24 hour grocery store to find a corner slice of birthday cake, with a big icing flower on it...

ReplyDeletemy birthday is december 27th and i completely agree with nicole marie...omg! funfetti cake is absolutely amazing! definitely my favorite! it's really good too if you make it with just the mix and 12 oz of a diet soda sweetened with splenda (we use waist watchers diet black cherry). you can't taste the soda, just the cake but it helps make it less fattening (obviously so you can just eat more and slather it with more frosting!)

I was baffled a couple of weeks ago when my husband told me he didn't know what funfetti cake was. So I promptly ran out and got one to bake for him. And of course he loved it. You have to try it! I like to put cream cheese icing between the layers and the funfetti icing on top. Oh and my birthday is June 11th.

All you had to say was icing in between the layers and MORE icing on top and you won me over! hehe Thank you Amber! :) I've seen the box for it so many times, but I've just never reached for it to make it. I've obviously been missing out on a pretty awesome cake... oops I mean Awe-summm :)

oh, husband is from marin county (mill valley, to be exact) and the plan is to settle out there in 1-3 years. it all depends how things fall into place. i love it there.
