My first childhood memory is of my maternal grandfather. I was around late 2, early 3 years of age, and he was pushing me in my stroller. We were right in front of my parents house and I dropped my stuffed animal. I can see it like yesterday, he bent down, his face right in front of mine, a full head of beautiful grey hair, picked it up, and placed it back in my lap as he looked at me. Its my first childhood memory, and also my one and only memory of him. I couldn't be more grateful to my mind, and heart, to holding onto something so special.
What's your first memory?

stuffed gray racooooon !!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's my memoryyy !!!!
I don't know which of these came first, but they are both when I was around 3 years old.
ReplyDeleteFirst, me sitting in between the rows of vegetables in our garden eating green beans right off the stalk while I was supposed to be gathering veggies for dinner.
Second, sitting on the floor in the Sunday School room singing the song "If I were a butterfly".
aww how sweet! i don't know if my first memories are real or if i remember them because of pictures. but i do remember sitting on a bench in pre-k trying to tie my shoes
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I remember is when I was about 3 or 4. My parents took me to the land they bought, and there was a bee hive in a stump. I was wearing stockings and got dozens of of bees that were stinging me stuck in my stockings.
ReplyDeletei think my first vivid memory was when i was 3, and i sat in my closet and skipped dinner because i was determined to learn how to tie my shoes, right now!
ReplyDeleteMy first memories were probably of pre-school...i don't know which ones but that is as far back as I remember
ReplyDeletewow all very cool memories! thank you for sharing. love it!
ReplyDeleteAllison, that sounds so PAINFUL!! ouch!!
What a wonderful memory!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, my first memory was breaking my leg. I was pushed on a sled by my dad. He didn't think I'd slide very far, but I ended up sliding down the entire hill (about as fast as Chevy Chase in N.L. Christmas Vacation). I ended up sliding under a truck at the bottom of the hill. I would have just slid under and out the other side, but I must have freaked out, so I lefted my leg and broke it under the truck. I was only about 2 or 3. It's crazy how you can remember that stuff!
Angela! ouch! Have you ever gone back on a sled since?! Your poor little leg :0(
ReplyDeleteahh what a sweet story..
ReplyDeleteMy first memory and one of my favorites is my father putting my hair up in pig tails and then pretending to drive a car with them. It use to do it even when I was an adult (if I had my hair up) When I had my daughters he would do the same to them.
Oh that is so sweet...I cannot recall my FIRST memory...there are so many! But I feel blessed in life and I have so many wonderful memories! Mostly of me and my sister and my mom and dad stuff like that. Happy Mother's Day! Becky
